Casa de Fe welcomes groups throughout the year. Because our summers are usually full, we ask that teams come in fall, winter or spring if possible. The optimal size for a group is between 10 and 20 team members. We are eager to receive teams for a variety of purposes: construction/work teams, medical/therapy teams, VBS/ children’s ministry teams, etc… Because Casa de Fe has a 15+ year plan for future building, the majority of our teams have a strong focus on construction and manual labor. If a team is focusing on construction, we will always include time with the children as well. If members of teams have specific skills that we can utilize, then we will do our best to provide opportunities for them to do so.
Although we would love to plan for specific work projects for each team, construction does not usually work like that in Ecuador. J We can usually tell teams what the big project will be (ex: working on the school building), but even that can change quickly depending on weather. We have seen many of our ‘plans’ thrown out the window, but we’ve watched how God’s plan is always better than ours in the end.
The most helpful thing that teams can do for us is to come prepared to be FLEXIBLE and have a willing servant heart for any project you are asked to do. Please know that whether you are digging a ditch, pouring concrete or changing diapers- you are still serving the staff, volunteers, and children who are at CDF long-term. Please never underestimate the power of what can be learned or taught (by us and you!) through each job…no matter how small it may seem. If you are interested in bringing a group to Casa de Fe, you will find the majority of information you need in the “Group Planning” document below. Please email Tandy Martintandymcgee@hotmail.com with the possible time frame for your group and any other questions you might have.
We look forward to serving with you in this way!
